Theodosius Dobzhansky was born January 25,1900 in Nemirov, Ukraine. He spent most of his like time in the United States and died in Davis, California from heart failure on December 18, 1975. Dobzhansky provided a biological explanation for evolution. He defined it as when different groups of a species have evolved apart enough that they can no longer mate and produce a fertile offspring between the two. In his life Dobzhansky refused the concept that genetics could attest to racial discrimination. He had multiple publications written by him or written from his writings.
A list of such publications follows: Genetics and the Origin of Species (1937), Heredity, Race, and Society (1946), Principles of Genetics (1950), Evolution, Genetics, and Man (1955), The Biological Basis of Human Freedom (1956), Radiation, Genes, and Man (1959), Mankind Evolving (1962), Heredity and the Nature of Man (1964), The Biology of Ultimate Concern (1967), Genetics of the Evolutionary Process (1970), Genetic Diversity and Human Equality (1973), Evolutionary Biology (1967), The Roving Naturalist: Travel Letters of Theodosius Dobzhansky (1980), Dobehansky's Genetics of Natural Populations (1981), and Human Culture (1983).
